Our expertise is in planning and facilitating special interest tours to Japan from start to finish. We do not offer canned tours. We tailor each tour to the desires and needs of each client and then provide professional guide service and oversight to ensure that all goes as it should. It is our mission to provide our clients with once in a lifetime experiences and exceptional service.
Mari Ueno Phillippi, a native of Japan, has nearly 30 years of experience in guiding and translating. She is a graduate of the prestigious International Christian University in Mitaka, Tokyo, with a Master’s degree in Linguistics from the Pennsylvania State University. Over the last 17 years Mari has planned and/or guided specialty tours including The Museum of Modern Art, The Guggenheim, and The Metropolitan Art Museums in New York, The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, The Cleveland Museum of Art, and Tate Modern in London as well as private and other specialty tours.
Jonathan H. Phillippi, a Penn State honors graduate in Communications, first traveled to Japan in 1984, later studying at International Christian University for one year. Jon taught in Japanese public schools for 11 years, speaks Japanese and occassionally hosts tours to Japan in addition to his many company duties.
Cora Lee Phillippi, a former teacher, planned and implemented educational tours and exchanges to Japan for a global education company for over 10 years, beginning in 1983. Retired, she continues to advise and assist individuals and JapanTrac in tour and workshop planning and implementation. She has traveled extensively in Japan and still enjoys fond relationships with her many Japanese friends.
